Beetroot Hummus

Hummus is a famous Middle Eastern dip and spread full of vitamins and minerals. Though it is now readily available in supermarkets and grocery stores, it is extremely simple to prepare at home. Beetroot is used in this recipe to make a thoughtful spared. Besides from the lip-smacking flavor, the vivid and cheerful pink hue of beetroot hummus makes it an outstanding party favorite.

Cumin powder

Lemon juice

2 tbsp

Salt

Method:-:

  1. Oil and roast the beetroot on the stove or in an oven for 10 minutes.

  2. Let it cool. Then chop it into smaller pieces.

  3. In a pan, roast the sesame seeds until aromatic.

  4. Allow to cool and then ground into a powder.

  5. In a food processer or blender, mix chickpeas and garlic, until smooth.

  6. You can add a little water if you find the mixture a little dry.

  7. Add the beetroot, sesame powder, curd, olive oil, cumin powder, and salt, and blend again until smooth.

  8. Transfer to a bowl and add the lemon juice. Mix well and check to season.

  9. Finish with a drizzling of olive oil and fresh coriander leaves on top.

  10. Serve with pita bread or anything you like to serve with.




Notes:

  1. Don’t drain all water in which chickpeas were boiled. Keep some amount of water to add while blending all ingredients. This water gives extra flavor to the recipe.

  2. To make the process easy tahini can be used instead of curd and sesame.

  3. Beetroot could be replaced with any fruits and vegetables you like broccoli, carrots, celery, leek, Mango, Avocado and the list goes on.
