Aloo Gobi is a traditional all-time favorite recipe of Indian households. it's a flavourful medley of cauliflower and potatoes with spices and fresh cilantro.

Main Ingredients:

Cauliflower

Vegetable oil

1 tbsp

Cumin seeds

1 tsp

Green chopped chilli (optional)

Chopped cilantro

Ginger-Garlic Paste

1 tbsp

Red Chilli Powder

½ tsp

Turmeric

½ tsp

Coriander Powder

1 tbsp

Ginger Julienne

2 tbsp

Kasuri Methi

1 tsp

Salt

To taste

Main Methods:

  1. Peel and cut potatoes into approx. ½ inch dice.

  2. Cut cauliflower into separate florets.

  3. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds. As they begin to turn a little darker and fragrant, add green chili pepper.

  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a while.

  5. Add the tomatoes, continue to stir-fry until the tomatoes have broken down completely in a pulp.

  6. Add the turmeric, coriander powder chili powder, stir to mix. Add the potatoes and mix well.

  7. Add the cauliflower, mix, and sprinkle on a couple of tablespoons of water. Turn the heat to low. Cover the pan with a tight lid.

  8. This helps the veggies to steam-cook without burning them.

  9. If the veggies start to stick to the bottom before they are cooked. Stir with the ladle also add a little amount of water.

  10. Garnish with the chopped cilantro, Kasuri Methi powder and ginger julienne and serve hot.

  11. NOTE:-

  12. You could also add onions if you want. For that add onions before ginger garlic paste and let them cook for a while until onions turn translucent. The rest method will be the same.
